Sagay City resident electrocuted

A 48-year-old man was found dead after being electrocuted at Sitio Balibag, Barangay Lopez Jaena, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, Friday morning.
Police identified the fatality as Leonardo Cunahap, a resident of the said barangay.
Reports released by Sagay City police said Nilda Cunahap, the sister-in-law of the victim, reported the incident and said she was informed by her brother, Romeo Damayo, the victim was accidentally electrocuted.
An investigation by police reveals the victim was assisting a welding operator at a shop owned by Dante Ecitan.
As Cunahap positioned himself towards the back portion of a truck, he accidentally electrocuted himself while holding onto the truck’s rails, where an exposed part of the welding wire was touching the rails.
One of the victim’s co-workers attempted to rescue Cunahap but he was already dead./WDJ
