Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. recently confirmed the Negros First CyberCentre is now 85 percent occupied, calling it a “self-liquidating asset,” which refers to assets generated through income used as repayment for an expenditure.
The governor stated all tenants are currently paying their rent.
Aside from the CyberCentre, Marañon said he fully supports the establishment of a Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) headquarters in the Negros Island Region (NIR).
According to the governor, the provincial government will provide land for the PCG, while the agency will setup one of 126 radar stations, which will be established throughout the country, in Sipalay City./WDJ
