Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, placed all city police stations on alert following the New People’s Army (NPA) ambush in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental last week, which claimed the lives of six police officers.
In response, Wanky reminded all 10 police stations in the city, if the rebels can attack a police station in Panay, they can do the same in Negros.
According to the city police chief, the attack on the Guihulngan City councilor was a trap and, when police responded, the NPA showed up in full force.
“It is the usual habit for police to respond immediately to a reported incident, which the rebels learned and used,” he explained./WDJ
