Investigators from Police Station 2 (PS2) have yet to identify the assailants in the deadly shooting incident that transpired at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City yesterday morning.

Police identified the victim as 47-year-old Jose Jimmy Alencia, a resident of Barangay 3, in the said city.

PS2 commander, Police Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias, said, prior to the incident, the victim was playing the illegal numbers game Cara y Cruz with companions at the site of the occurrence.

An unidentified riding-in-tandem on a black motorcycle later appeared and shot Alencia several times with an unknown caliber of firearm and fled.

Alencia was immediately brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for treatment but was declared dead-on-arrival.

Villarias added, initial investigations identified the motive behind the shooting as drug-related./DGB, WDJ
