Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. recently ordered the dismissal of suspended Iloilo Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) chief Soledad Sulcadito, who was found guilty in three administrative cases, including charges of grave misconduct, gross negligence, and simple negligence.

The case stepped from quarry operators Aires Octaviano and Ireneo Grabato filing an administrative case against Sucaldito in 2015, where they claimed the PENRO chief refused to issue delivery receipts for their quarry operations in Alimodian.

They explained, the non-issuance of receipts without legal basis halted their operations.

Additionally, Genghis Ferrer, another quarry operator, also filed an administrative case, claiming Sucaldito used his quarry materials in the construction of her home.

An environmental task force from Janiuay also brought forward an administrative case./WDJ
