According to data from Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6), the number of criminal incidents between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017 totaled 36,690; a decline from the 40,100 recorded in the preceding time period.

The drop indicates an 8.5 percent fall in crime throughout the region.

PRO-6 director, Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, attributed the decrease to the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte and the relentless war against illegal drugs and other anti-criminality campaigns.

PRO-6’s Crime Clearance and Solution Efficiency for the year increased and are now at 62.03 percent and 60.62 percent respectively – higher than the national target./DGB, WDJ
