Lakawon Island Resort and Spa owner Vladimir Gonzales said he will investigate the robbery that victimized two of his guests, former Pagadian City Mayor Samuel Co and his wife, over the weekend.

Upon learning of the incident, Gonzales said he contacted members of the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) to look into the case.

He said a person of interest from Pulupandan has already been identified. The resort owner is also requesting police look into construction workers currently assigned to the area.

Gonzales noted, if the suspects were guests, they must have only stayed for one night and left after committing the crime.

Last Sunday, Co and his wife were victimized by thieves.

Reports from Cadiz City police say the suspects entered the couple’s resort suite through a small window in the comfort room.

Thieves managed to cart away several pieces of jewelry, cash, and watches, valued at nearly P4 million./DGB, WDJ
