A motorcyclist was allegedly stabbed at Santa Rita Street-C.C. Aquino Drive, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, yesterday morning.
Police identified the victim as 26-year-old Mark Casabuena, a resident of the said city.
Police Station 6 (PS6) commander, Police Chief Inspector Jovil Sedel, said Casabuena was aboard his motorcycle when he was assaulted and stabbed by the suspect, identified as Jason Villaestin.
Casabuena incurred two stab wounds on his body and was immediately rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for treatment. Sedel stated the victim’s wounds were not fatal and he is now recovering.
The PS6 chief pointed out Casabuena was a former member of a suspected local fraternity group in the city, and Villaestin held grudges with him.
He added, Casabuena was also allegedly involved in a previous shooting case.
Meanwhile, Villaestin, who fled after committing the crime, could face attempted murder charges if Casabuena decides to file against him./WDJ
