After a portion of the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) ceiling collapsed earlier this week, the Office of the Building Administrator (OBA) stated funds are available every year for maintenance and repair.
According to OBA head, Engr. Amy Tencia, the city set aside P1.5 million last year for repainting, P1.2 million for maintenance of the roof, and P600,000 for interior and ceiling maintenance.
She noted, another P550,000 is being spent on ceiling maintenance this year.
However, Tencia said repairs to the rear of the building, where the damaged ceiling is located, have not been conducted yet this year./WDJ
