Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Abraham Kahlil Mitra announced 70 Filipino boxers were blacklisted after submitting “fake” CT scans.
“As a regulatory body, we must ensure that boxers are fit to fight,” he explained. “The integrity of the sport also depends on the integrity of the licensing process of GAB.”
The GAB chairman said the GAB medical section discovered irregularities in the CT scans of the named boxers.
Those on the list are barred from fighting; however, they can have their licenses activated upon the submission of new CT scans.
“Boxers on the attached list still have the fair opportunity to apply for licenses or renewal,” Mitra explained./WDJ
