The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will be conducting a bomb simulation exercise (SIMEX) on Tuesday, part of the disaster preparedness month observance throughout July.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, said the exercise will raise awareness among government employees and law enforcement agencies on the proper procedure when dealing with a bomb threat or discovering a live explosive.
He noted his office recently completed a tabletop exercise with the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Wanky explained SIMEX will be conducted at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) and at the old Bacolod City Hall.
He also warned the simulation is expected to create traffic snarl-ups, particularly along Circumferential Road and Araneta Street.
The BCPO Traffic Management Unit (TMU) has since been instructed to formulate a rerouting scheme./WDJ
