Police are currently on the lookout after two inmates of the Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ) in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City made a daring escape last Sunday.
Authorities from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) identified the escapees as Noli Dega of Barangay 39, Bacolod City; and Marlon Molina of Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
In an interview with Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod yesterday, Jail Superintendent Amilito Fuentes said Dega was in prison for drug-related charges, while Molina is facing charges of robbery and carnapping.
Based on their initial investigation, Molina, Dega, and third escapee, identified as Gibson Jain, broke out of prison by destroying the first perimeter fence cyclone wire and jumping off the second perimeter fence.
Jain was recaptured by jail guards, while Molina and Dega managed to evade arrest.
Following the escape, BJMP-Negros Island Region Director, Jail Senior Superintendent Herman Grande instructed Bacolod Jail Warden, Jail Chief Inspector Junary Sichon, to recapture Dega and Molina./DGB, WDJ
