Barangay Villamonte surprised Bata, 103-96, on April 29 and clobbered Barangay 16 on May 2 to take the temporary leadership in the ongoing 17-Under division of Mayor Bing Summer Basketball Tournament at the BAYS Center in Bacolod City.
Joining Villamonte in the win column are Barangay 41 which dealt Brgy. 35, 80-59; and Cabug beating Brgy. 12, 104-85, in the opening day.
On May 2, Singcang demolished Banago, 138-68, as Mansilingan shocked Granada, 82-71, and Barangay 10 surprising Brgy 8, 102-93.
In other results, Sum-ag held off a 103-98 win over Brgy. 27 on May 3 as Brgy. 34 stripped Brgy 31, 89-63, while Barangay 14 whipped Estefania, 94-83, and Alijis beating Pahanocoy, 83-78.
In the 14-Under category, Negros Youth Basketball Club crushed Coach Nene Basketball Club, 80-61, in opening day while Pahanocoy trimmed SBC, 93-87, on May 2.
Barangay 10 also hacked out a 75-73 triumph over Barangay 13 on May 3 while Villamonte nipped Sum-ag, 79-63.
