A man was seriously wounded, while a woman managed to escape, following separate violent incidents in Bacolod City, late Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning.
Police identified the victims as 38-year-old Erlyn Dayrit, a resident of Purok Cagaycay, Barangay 2; and Ereneo Arellano, 40, a resident of Purok Punay, Barangay 16 of the said city.
A report released by Police Station 2 (PS2) said, around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Dayrit was walking with friends, two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle tried to shoot Dayrit with a .45 caliber pistol.
However, Dayrit managed to escape unharmed, while the two suspects fled towards an unknown direction.
PS2 said they have not yet established a motive as to why Dayrit was targeted.
Meanwhile, in Barangay 16, Arellano was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) after receiving two stab wounds to his right arm and chest.
According to investigators from Police Station 1 (PS1), Arellano reportedly had a heated argument with the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Roger Flores, Jr., when the latter stabbed him twice.
PS1 added they are now conducting a follow-up operation against Flores, who managed to flee after stabbing the victim./WDJ
