Following the ongoing investigation into the alleged cover-up of a shooting incident at the Provincial Food Terminal (PFT) involving a reportedly drunk security guard of the IloBac Security Agency, the designated agency to the site, the Negros Occidental provincial government is reviewing contracts with security agencies.
“We are currently discussing some options on the problem, as recommended by security head Venchito Magalona and Atty. Japhet Masculino, head of the Economic Enterprise Development Division,” said acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea.
“We are also looking into who is accountable for the actions,” she added.
Gelvolea said, among the options being discussed, the security office could potentially take jurisdiction over the facility, which is located a block away from the Provincial Capitol.
Meanwhile, Magalona said there are five private security agencies guarding provincial government facilities, including district hospitals outside Bacolod City./WDJ
