According to Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, street crimes, including robbery and theft, are down 60 percent throughout the city.
In a local TV interview, he said BCPO’s “Oplan: Bakbak,” an anti-criminality program, is working.
However, Wanky added, there is still room for improvement.
He also discussed the importance of eradicating illegal gambling in the city.
“At first, we were not able to gain momentum, but I’m happy with the doubling, even tripling, performance by our stations,” the local police chief said.
Wanky also denied allegations claiming he is involved in protecting illegal gambling operators in the city, adding he will file criminal charges against those linking him to the illegal activity./WDJ
