Following a silver medal finish in secondary girls basketball at the 2017 Palarong Pambansa, Negros Island Region (NIR) team manager Denden Velez said the sport lacks exposure.
“Girls lack local tournaments, where they can gain more experience and exposure,” she said. “Local government units need to set up leagues for girls basketball.”
NIR lost to the National Capital Region (NCR), 57-32.
Despite going into the half tied at 21-21, the NCR squad went on a 36-11 run in the second half./WDJ
