2017 Panaad sa Negros Festival Bacolod City, La Castellana win festival contests

Bacolod City and La Castellana were recently named the winners of the Paindis-indis sa Binalaybay and the children’s choir competitions, respectively, at the ongoing 2017 Panaad sa Negros Festival.
Iana Rica Nicavera was awarded P10,000 for winning the Paindis-indis sa Binalaybay competition, which aims to promote Negrense culture and arts.
Contest pieces were required to be original pieces, in either Hiligaynon or Cebuano, and tied in with the theme, “Panaad: Shining Bright @ 24.”
The competitor from Escalante City took second place, while Silay City came in third.
Meanwhile, La Castellana took home P30,000 for winning the children’s choir competition, with Silay City coming second place and Pontevedra in third./WDJ
