The Negros Island Region (NIR) softball team only needed five innings to mark their first win in the 2017 Palarong Pambansa, a 20-0 demolition of the Zamboanga Peninsula at the Camp Fullon Field in San Fernando, Antique.
The team is looking to win back-to-back championships.
The Negrense team is scheduled for a double header tomorrow, facing off against both Mimaropa and the National Capital Region (NCR).
Meanwhile, as of press time, the NIR elementary softball team is playing the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao./WDJ
