The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be strengthening their presence in Antique as the province prepares to host the 2017 Palarong Pambansa, set to open on Sunday, April 23.
According to Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) spokesperson, Police Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, 1,500 law enforcement officers will be deployed to San Jose and neighboring towns, with 400 cops sent to augment the Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO).
Reports also suggest President Rodrigo Duterte may be in attendance for opening ceremonies.
Aside from the police, emergency response teams are also on standby./WDJ
