Shortly after the opening rites of the Panaad sa Negros Festival, at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, the Best of Festival Dances Competition will commence, where 20 local government units (LGUs) have confirmed their participation, including two-time defending champion, Murcia’s Tinabuay Festival.
Also competing will be Bago City’s Babaylan, Cadiz City’s Dinagsa, Candoni’s Padagyaw sa Tablas, Cauayan’s Lubay-lubay, Don Salvador Benedicto’s Kali-Kalihan, Escalante City’s Manlambus, Himamaylan City’s Himayaan, Hinobaan’s Pagbanaag, Ilog’s Kisi-Kisi, Kabankalan City’s Udyakan, La Castellana’s Bailes de Luces, Manapla’s Manang Pula, Sagay City’s Sinigayan, San Carlos City’s Pintaflores, San Enrique’s Bulang-bulang, Sipalay City’s Pasaway, Talisay City’s Minulu-an, Valladolid’s Pasundayag, and Victorias City’s Kadalag-an.
Bacolod City’s MassKara Festival will have a guest performance during the competition.
The competition will be followed by the fireworks display, the GMA Kapuso Show, and RMN’s Hip Hop Challenge 2017.
Other activities on opening day include Thanksgiving Mass at 8:00 a.m.; lechon parade; and ribbon-cutting ceremonies for Panaad Tourism, Agri-Trade Fair, Bamboo Village and Exhibits, Organic Village, Livestock and Dairy Fair, Eco-Garden Show, among others./WDJ
