The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution last week urging the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Bacolod Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya to pursue a Bacolod Coastal Access Road.
According to the resolution, “The city of Bacolod can no longer accommodate the increasing number of vehicles,” pointing out the planned Bacolod Economic Highway will be a solution for the eastern part of the city, while a coastal road would “serve as alternate and fast access route for delivery and cargo trucks.”
The proposal will connect Barangays Punta Taytay, Sum-ag, Pahanocoy, Tangub, Singcang-Airport, 35, the Reclamation Area, 1, 2, 3, and Banago.
The resolution also requests the plan be included as a priority project for the Negros Island Region (NIR)./WDJ
