The Iloilo provincial government allotted P10.5 million for its 2017 Palarong Pambansa delegation.
“We are just waiting for the authority from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in order to sign a memorandum of agreement between the province and the Department of Education Division of Iloilo,” said Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr.
P6.6 million will fund for training expenses, while P3.9 goes towards allowances, he explained.
Iloilo will be sending a total of 410 student-athletes, coaches, and chaperones.
Meanwhile, Provincial School Board Secretary Jerry Bionat said this year’s budget is lower compared to the previous year, as this year’s event takes place in neighboring Antique.
The participating schools will subsequently submit liquidation reports to the provincial government following the close of the Palaro./WDJ
