A suspected member of the “basag kotse” gang was arrested by members of Police Station 2 (PS2) when he was caught trying to steal items inside a private vehicle parked along Gatuslao Street, in front of the Negros Museum, yesterday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Joemarie Seballos, a resident of Purok Maya, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
PS2 commander, Police Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias, said his men were conducting a patrol of the area when they caught Seballos allegedly breaking the window of a private vehicle in an attempt to steal the items inside.
Police arrested Seballos on the spot.
When they interrogated the suspect, Villarias said the suspect fessed up to the string of vehicular burglary incidents in their area.
Seballos is facing malicious mischief charges and is detained at PS2.
Villarias, meanwhile, urged any possible victims of vehicular burglary to visit their station in order to file additional criminal charges against Seballos./WDJ
