A resident of Barangay Taculing finished tenth on this year’s Physician Licensure Examination after earning an overall score of 85.92.
In a radio interview, yesterday, Dr. Dominique Ariel Bingcang Tomampos said he never dreamed of becoming a doctor and, instead, wished to become a basketball player.
However, his grandparents urged him to take up nursing, where he was later unsuccessful in the board exams.
He later decided to take up medicine after seeing the demand for nurses was in decline and, at the same time, looking to follow in the footsteps of his mother and uncle, who are both physicians.
He admitted his studies at Central Philippine University (CPU) in Iloilo City were difficult, but persevered to finish.
Tomampos thanked his family and his local church for their support./WDJ
