A 51-year-old man was declared dead after he was hit by a bus along the National Highway at Sitio Naga, Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City, late Saturday evening.
Police identified the fatality as Jose John Camento, a resident of the said barangay.
Kabankalan City police commander, Police Superintendent Rhea Santos, said, based on their investigation, the bus, driven by 30-year-old Michael Gatuteo, was heading north, when he accidentally bumped Camento.
Camento was declared dead on arrival at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital, after sustaining fatal injuries along different parts of his body.
Gatuteo, meanwhile, surrendered to Kabankalan City police, but was later released after both sides negotiated a settlement./WDJ
