Following a recent meeting with Senator Loren Legarda, Department of Public Works and Highways-Region VI (DPWH-6) Assistant Director Al Fruto discussed two projects surrounding the Bancal-Leon-Antique Boundary Road, linking the provinces of Iloilo and Antique.
The agency plans on spending P81.3 million on a road leading to the Bucari Pineridge Mountain Resort, known as the “Little Baguio of Iloilo,” along with another P74.2 million on measures to prevent landslides, since the road travels through mountainous villages.
The project also covers excavations; embankments; and reinforcing concrete pipe culverts, concrete line canals, slope protection, metal beams, guardrails, and thermoplastic pavement markings.
Fruto added the projects are not only for tourism purposes, but also for the farming community, making it easier for them to transport their goods./WDJ
