Five members of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) could face administrative charges after getting into a brawl during a basketball game in Dumaguete City.
In a Facebook post by Hulagway ug Kasikas sa Dumaguete, a group of men can be seen getting into a fist fight in the middle of the game.
The victim, identified as Ken Kinkito, reported the incident to Dumaguete City police, and is filing charges against Police Officer 1 (PO1) Jose Gabriel Villegas, PO1 Darylle Jade Delbo, PO2 Reynold Navarro, PO2 Ismael Llosa, and PO3 Rulymar Laquinon.
The cops are members of NOrPPO’s Provincial Intelligence Branch-Special Operations Group.
The involved police officers denied Kinkito’s allegations, explaining they did not start the fight, adding they were arguing over the game but denied harming Kinkito.
Following the incident, Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18) Director, Police Chief Superintendent Renato Gumban, urged cops to practice their patience and avoid confrontations that could harm the image of the Philippine National Police (PNP)./WDJ
