Training underway for ASEAN ushers, liaison officers

In preparation for the 2017 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, with meetings scheduled in Bacolod City from March 21 to 24, a total of 60 ushers and 25 liaisons are currently attending a four-day skills enhancement training program at the Sugarland Hotel.
According to Bacolod Secretariat Committee Assistant Chair Sandra Ruth Sycip, the ushers are comprised of tourism and hotel management students from La Consolacion College-Bacolod, while the liaison officers were selected from city employees.
Resource speakers for the event include former Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Fortunato Oblena, former Philippine Ambassador to Brazil Eva Betita, along with Karen Loren Agustin-Ostrea and Karina Agustin-Crisostomo of Global Image Management.
The training, which ends today, was spearheaded by the Foreign Service Institute of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)./WDJ
