RSOTG-18 raids Calatrava home for explosives

Members of the Regional Special Operations Task Group-18 (RSOTG-18) raided a house in Barangay Lo-ok, Calatrava town, Negros Occidental, yesterday morning, after receiving a report the homeowner was allegedly keeping explosives.
Police identified the suspect as 47-year-old Malvin Rebaya, a businessman and resident of Menchaca Street in the said barangay.
RSOTG-18 chief, Police Superintendent Robert Lingbawan, said they conducted the raid after receiving a search warrant from Judge Amy Alabado Avellano, acting executive judge for Branch 58.
After securing the warrant, cops immediately proceeded to the suspect’s house and performed the search.
Police recovered a grenade, two .45 caliber magazines, 204 .45 caliber bullets, and five .38 caliber bullets.
Rebaya is facing charges of illegal possession of explosives and ammunition, and is detained at the Calatrava Municipal Police Station./WDJ
