The Fil-Sino Athletic Club-Asia Brewery Invitational Cup 2017 will be holding a championship doubleheader tonight at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym, with Talisay Gwapo-Sunkist taking on Fil-Sino Beer na Beer at 7:00 p.m. in the Class A division, and Manila Beer Light meeting ESJ & Sons-Asahi in the Class B division at 8:30 p.m.
In order to reach the finals, Talisay Gwapo-Sunkist defeated Blitz-Summit, 70-69, last Friday.
Following dominance by Talisay Gwapo in the first half, Blitz was able to erase a first half 20-point deficit.
Talisay Gwapo held a 70-69 lead with seven seconds left in the game clock as Blitz earned three putback chances through Rodel Canino, Roel Balgos, and Tata Javillo, however their attempts failed as time expired.
Ryan Hugnatan paced Talisay Gwapo with 16 points./WDJ
