A job order casual employee of the city government of Bacolod attempted to take her own life, yesterday morning, at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).
Authorities have refused to name the 67-year-old employee, but confirmed she works as a street cleaner.
In a report by Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, the employee reportedly fell ill after she realized her name was not on the list of the current rosters of job orders working in the city government.
She reportedly tried to jump off the third floor, but was stopped by a concerned employee.
When asked by Executive Assistant Celestino Guara, a retired police superintendent, it was revealed she was not aware that job orders work in “rotation.”
When asked what pushed her to take her own life, she said she was having family problems, as she could no longer feed her 11 grandchildren.
The city government is now reviewing her status./WDJ
