Cadiz City accumulated an impressive medal haul in the badminton competition at the 2017 Palarong NIR, including gold medals in the secondary girls team, elementary mixed doubles, along with the secondary girls and elementary boys doubles events.
“This is going to be one of the strongest team selections that will surely bring home medals for the NIR in the forthcoming Palarong Pambansa,” said Cadiz City head coach Jordan Sun.
The gold medal-winning secondary girls badminton team comprised of Jacqueline Marie Pantoja, Katrina Mae Consing, Phoebe Jay Villaflor and Yvonnie Dema-ano. Pantoja and Consing were the duo to capture the doubles title.
Clarence Villaflor and John Vincent were the pair to win the elementary boys doubles event. Meanwhile, Villaflor teamed up with Reshane Marie Nicor to capture the mixed doubles elementary title.
The team also won silver in the secondary mixed doubles, secondary boys team, elementary girls team, elementary boys doubles, and elementary girls doubles events.
Cadiz City picked up bronze in the secondary girls singles and elementary boys singles events./WDJ
