Bacolod-based entrepreneur and athlete Janiree Dacles continues to make her mark in Philippine sports after winning back-to-back championships in the Ladies Class B division at the Iloilo Golf and Country Club, adding another milestone to a career that has spanned cycling, HYROX and now competitive golf.
The consecutive victories highlight Dacles’ successful transition into golf after representing the Philippines in various international competitions in endurance sports.
Before taking up golf, Dacles competed as a member of the Philippine Gravel Team, representing the country in Italy against some of the world’s top cyclists.
She later ventured into HYROX, earning the opportunity to represent the Philippines in international competitions in Taiwan and South Korea.
Now a member of both the Negros Occidental and Bacolod Golf and Country Clubs, Dacles continues to pursue competitive golf while managing her businesses, raising her two young children, and supporting the local sports community.
She said every sport she has embraced has taught her valuable lessons in resilience, discipline, patience, and continuous self-improvement — qualities that have guided her both in competition and in life.
Despite the challenges of balancing motherhood, entrepreneurship, training, and competition, Dacles believes consistency is more important than perfection.
Beyond her achievements on the course, she hopes her journey will inspire more women, mothers and aspiring athletes to pursue their passions regardless of age, career or family responsibilities.
“You don’t have to choose between being a mother, a businesswoman and an athlete. With discipline, proper priorities and the support of your family, it’s possible to keep chasing your dreams,” Dacles said.
As she continues competing in golf and expanding her businesses, Dacles remains committed to promoting an active lifestyle and giving back to the local sporting community.
