A 26-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly snatched a cellphone from a 14-year-old Grade 9 student in Bacolod City’s Barangay 38 on Friday, July 17.

The female student, a resident of Barangay 40, was walking home when the suspect suddenly grabbed her cellphone.

Residents apprehended the man, and he was later turned over to barangay officials.

Punong Barangay Gener Agpalo said the suspect is not a resident of their barangay.

In a statement to barangay officials, the suspect said it was his first time to commit the act because he was extremely hungry after coming from work./BJD, WDJ
