The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts captured the Kolasa Cup Spikefest championship after defeating University of St. La Salle – B in straight sets, 26-24, 25-16, in the finals at The Hangar in Bacolod City.

The Thunderbolts weathered a tightly contested opening set before taking command in the second frame to complete the sweep and secure the title.

Leading the way was Mhegan Ordaniel, who earned the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award after spearheading Tay Tung’s championship run.

Ordaniel also took home the Best Outside Hitter citation.

Rayne dela Cruz was recognized as the tournament’s Best Setter, while Andrea Chua received the Best Middle Blocker award, giving the Thunderbolts three of the event’s top individual honors.

The championship-winning Bacolod Tay Tung roster was composed of Dela Cruz, Samantha Valenciano, Andrea Chua, Dubhe Medina, Princess Audess, Cleo Palabrica, Mhegan Ordaniel, Madison Garcia, Elexie Resonte, and Andrea Lim.

The team was coached by Ian Macariola with Gersan Banzuela serving as assistant coach as the Thunderbolts completed an impressive campaign by lifting the Kolasa Cup Spikefest crown./ASC, WDJ
