Police are continuing their investigation after a decomposed body of an unidentified man was discovered in a secluded area at Barangay Pacol in Negros Occidental’s Bago City yesterday morning.

The body was found at around 10:00 a.m. after residents reported a strong foul odor coming from the area in Purok La Paz, Bago police chief investigator, Staff Master Sergeant Erwin Jamandre said.

The victim, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, was wearing a black shirt and red shorts.

The remains, already in an advanced state of decomposition, were wrapped entirely with duct tape and bore no visible tattoos that could help establish the victim’s identity.

Authorities believed the body to have been left at the site for at least two days before being discovered.

Investigators work to determine the victim’s identity and the circumstances surrounding his death.

Police have yet to establish the cause and manner of the killing./CCJ, WDJ
