A second notice of violation was served against AMA Computer College – Bacolod campus yesterday for operating without a business permit.

Secretary to the Mayor Marty Go said the notice was served by the Bacolod Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) and the City Legal Office (CLO) at 9:47 a.m.

He said the college had been operating without a business permit in violation of the City Ordinance 656, or the Bacolod City Revised Local Revenue Code of 2011.

Earlier, the college was given three days to comply with the notice order.

After the lapse of the given time, the college has not rectified the deficiencies stated in their inspection report.

Go stressed that the college was advised to immediately stop their business operations within the city.

The institution is required to comply with all requirements to secure permits within 15 working days.

Otherwise, BPLO will recommend its closure to the City Legal Office.

The college is also facing complaints from several parents after their students were allegedly barred from participating in a graduation ceremony on June 24.

The mayor revealed that the school failed to renew its permit in 2021 and 2022.

Mayor Greg Gasataya revealed that the school renewed its permit from 2023 to 2025, but it remained pending due to failure to secure clearances from the City Health Office and the Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office./MAP, WDJ
