A woman was injured after she was allegedly shot by her ex-boyfriend inside an eatery along Circumferential Road in Bacolod City’s Barangay Villamonte on Saturday night, June 27.
Police identified the victim as alias “Queen,” who is of legal age and a resident of Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City.
Police Station 4 commander Major Marc Joeil Reclamado said the victim was eating inside the eatery at around 11:00 p.m. with a male friend.
Her ex-boyfriend, identified only by the alias “Ace,” approached her and asked if the man was her boyfriend.
“Ace” asked the victim to go with him, but she refused, Reclamado said.
The suspect allegedly pulled out an unidentified firearm and shot her.
“Queen” sustained gunshot wounds on the lower portion of her abdomen and was rushed to a hospital.
She is now in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene on board a motorcycle.
Police recovered from the scene of the crime two spent bullets and two fired cartridge cases of an unidentified firearm.
Investigators are looking into jealousy as the possible motive behind the shooting.
Police Station 4 is continuing its follow-up operations to locate and arrest the suspect, who remains at large./MAP, WDJ
