Some of the country’s top volleyball players headlined the Kabankalan Independence Day Celebrity Beach Volleyball Games at the Kabankalan Football Field inside the city public plaza yesterday.

Organized by the Kabankalan City Tourism, Culture and the Arts Office, the event formed part of the city’s Independence Day celebration and drew volleyball fans from across the city and neighboring areas.

Among the featured players were national team standout and beach volleyball star Sisi Rondina, along with Ponggay Gaston, Maddie Madayag and Roma Doromal.

The event, which was made open to the public, allowed families, friends and volleyball enthusiasts to watch the athletes showcase their skills on the sand.

City officials said the celebrity beach volleyball games were held to add excitement to the annual Independence Day festivities while promoting sports, tourism and community participation in Kabankalan City.
