The Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) management has issued a strong public warning against individuals illegally using the hospital’s name, as well as the identities of its officials, to solicit money and favors from suppliers and stakeholders.
Hospital medical center chief Dr. Joan Cerrada, in an advisory posted on the hospital’s official Facebook page, confirmed that management has received multiple reports of scammers impersonating authorized representatives of CLMMRH.
The advisory said fraudulent individuals have been contacting suppliers, contractors and partners while falsely claiming to represent the hospital.
The scammers reportedly ask for cash, sponsorships, gifts, donations, and other forms of assistance, presenting these requests as allegedly endorsed by CLMMRH.
Cerrada emphasized that such activities are entirely unauthorized and do not reflect any official transaction or policy of the institution.
“I hereby make it clear: Any solicitation, request for funds, sponsorships, gifts, donations, or favors allegedly coming in the name of CLMMRH, the medical center chief, the executive committee, department heads, or any hospital staff — without formal written authorization — is fraudulent, unauthorized, and in no way represents the hospital’s official policy or activities,” she stated.
The hospital management reiterated its commitment to transparency, integrity and accountability in all dealings, stressing that CLMMRH does not engage in informal or unsolicited fundraising or sponsorship requests.
Cerrada urged suppliers, donors and stakeholders to exercise vigilance and verify all communications through the hospital’s official channels before responding to any financial or contractual requests.
She also encouraged the public to immediately report suspicious messages, calls or solicitations impersonating hospital officials so that appropriate action and investigation can be conducted.
CLMMRH assured the public that it will continue to safeguard its reputation and take firm steps against individuals involved in fraudulent schemes targeting the institution and its partners./CCJ, WDJ
