A technician who allegedly bought a stolen cellular phone of the female doctor who was involved in a recent robbery-holdup incident is facing charges in violation of Anti-Fencing Law before the City Prosecutor’s Office in Bacolod City.
Charges were filed against “Joenel,” a resident of Barangay 14, who allegedly bought and tried to open the phone owned by the 30-year-old victim.
“This will serve as a warning to those engaged in selling and buying cellular phones,” Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director Colonel Eugene Rebadomia said.
On Tuesday, June 2, robbery with violence or intimidation complaints were already filed against the suspects who allegedly robbed the victim at her apartment in Barangay 19 on May 28.
The BCPO is also eyeing another complaint to be filed against the suspect’s companion.
The suspects in the robbery holdup incident — 27-year-old “Rem,” a resident of Barangay 40, and 32-year-old “Shaun” from Barangay Cabug — were arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 on Saturday, May 30.
“Shan” was also arrested hours later in Barangay Cabug on Sunday, May 31.
The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 1.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were a motorcycle and two phone units./MAP, WDJ
