The Negros Island Region (NIR) Visayan Vipers continued to boost their medal haul in athletics at the 2026 Palarong Pambansa after Aaron Jan Pahilagao and Jasheen dela Cruz each captured silver medals in their respective events.

Pahilagao delivered another strong showing on the track, earning second place in the secondary boys 200-meter sprint to secure a podium finish for the regional squad.

Meanwhile, Dela Cruz added to the Vipers’ tally after claiming silver in the elementary girls shot put competition held at the Democrito O. Plaza Sports Complex.

The young thrower impressed in the field event with a solid performance in the throwing circle to finish runner-up in the national meet.

Dela Cruz prepared for the tournament under the supervision of coach Renan Perdon together with local trainers Jefran Ladua and Louie Santiago.

The latest medals further strengthened the Visayan Vipers’ campaign in the athletics competitions of the Palarong Pambansa 2026 in Agusan del Sur./ASC, WDJ
