The Land Transportation Office in the Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) recorded a total of 41 traffic violators during a two-day enforcement operation conducted in Bacolod City from May 11 to 12.
The joint operation, carried out in Barangay Taculing and along portions of Lacson Street, was part of intensified road safety and traffic law enforcement efforts in the city.
Around 10 LTO personnel were deployed, supported by four personnel from the local Traffic Enforcement Unit.
Authorities said the operation focused on roadside inspections and strict enforcement of Republic Act No. 4136, the No Registration, No Travel policy, and anti-colorum regulations aimed at addressing unregistered public utility and private vehicles operating illegally.
Of the 41 apprehended violators, cases included unregistered vehicles, reckless driving, helmet and seatbelt violations, unlicensed drivers, and the use of defective vehicle accessories.
Several motorcycles and other vehicles were also impounded during the operation as part of standard enforcement procedures.
The LTO-NIR said the activity is part of ongoing measures to improve road discipline and reduce traffic-related risks in key urban areas across the region./CJ, WDJ
