The president of the Kabacod Negros Transport Organization (KNETCO) voluntarily surrendered in connection with a cyberlibel complaint filed against her in December 2025.

Bacolod City Police Station 8 processed KNETCO President Lillian Sembrano for custodial procedures following the complaint lodged by Corazon Ocalinas of Choret Corporation.

Based on police records and initial information, the case stemmed from a social media post made by Sembrano in response to an earlier statement attributed to Ocalinas.

The post was allegedly made after Ocalinas called for the possible apprehension of traditional jeepneys, which she said was intended to help recover outstanding bank obligations.

Sembrano admitted posting about a vehicle linked to Choret Corporation that she claimed was emitting smoke along a public road.

In her online statement, she described the incident as “karma” in relation to what she alleged were threats or pressure against drivers and operators of traditional jeepneys.

She also made remarks online suggesting that Ocalinas was exerting influence over transportation agencies such as the Land Transportation Office and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in matters affecting livelihoods in the public transport sector.

Following preliminary proceedings, the court recommended a bail amount of P10,000 for Sembrano’s temporary liberty while the case is ongoing./CJ, WDJ
