The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has strengthened its patrol capability with the addition of 10 electric vehicles donated by the city government.
The turnover and blessing ceremony was held at the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday, led by Mayor Greg Gasataya, as part of the city’s efforts to modernize law enforcement while promoting environmentally sustainable practices.
The units, consisting of GAC AION electric vehicles, were formally received by Police Brigadier General Arnold Thomas Ibay, regional director of the Police Regional Office in the Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), and BCPO officer-in-charge Police Colonel Eugene Rebadomia.
Police officials said the new vehicles are expected to improve police visibility and mobility across Bacolod, enabling faster response to incidents and more efficient patrol operations.
PRO-NIR expressed gratitude to the city government for its continued support, noting that the acquisition of modern equipment enhances the capability of police personnel to carry out their duties effectively.
Authorities said the electric vehicles will be strategically deployed to key areas in the city to strengthen crime prevention efforts and maintain peace and order.
The turnover highlights the collaboration between the local government and the Philippine National Police in enhancing public safety while adopting sustainable solutions in daily operations, officials added./CJ, WDJ
