A major transport operator in the country has announced a 10 percent fare discount for passengers traveling during the peak Holy Week period this year as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative and support for the government’s call for solidarity and bayanihan.

The discount will be implemented on Good Friday, Black Saturday and Easter Sunday across bus operations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, providing relief to thousands of Filipinos expected to travel to and from their home provinces during the Lenten break.

Company management said the initiative is a gesture of compassion aimed at easing the financial burden of commuters during one of the busiest travel seasons in the country.

It also emphasized that the move reflects the spirit of generosity and unity associated with Holy Week observance.

According to the transport group, the fare reduction will be honored across several of its affiliated bus companies operating nationwide, covering major interisland and provincial routes.

The management added that the effort aligns with the broader appeal for cooperation and shared responsibility in supporting the riding public during peak travel demand while also promoting safer and more accessible mobility throughout the holiday period./CJ, WDJ
