The Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) has issued a formal notice to Barangay 16 Punong Barangay Jason Ligaya following the reported reinstallation of illegal structures and obstructions along a newly cleared road within the village.

The notice, dated March 24, was issued by Atty. Bartolome Malde Jr., head of the CLO clearing team, after authorities observed that structures previously removed during a clearing operation had been reinstalled in the same area.

According to the CLO, the site had already been turned over by the city government to the barangay for proper monitoring and maintenance after a clearing operation conducted on July 9, 2025.

However, recent inspections revealed that similar obstructions have resurfaced, again occupying portions of the road right of way.

The office emphasized that these structures are considered illegal as they encroach on government property and obstruct public roads.

City Legal Officer Atty. Karol Joseph Chiu warned that failure on the part of the barangay to remove the illegal structures could result in the filing of administrative charges against the barangay captain./CJ, WDJ
