The National Housing Authority (NHA) has formally launched the MassKara Village housing project in Bacolod City’s Barangay Sum-ag, aiming to provide 500 affordable housing units for qualified beneficiaries as part of the government’s socialized housing program.
The development, with a total project cost of P1.04 billion, spans approximately 73,105 square meters and is being implemented by Silver Dragon Construction, Lumber & Glass Supply Inc. under the supervision of the NHA Negros Occidental District Office.
Designed for phased construction and progressive turnover, the project integrates financing support from both the NHA and Pag-IBIG Fund to ensure accessibility and sustainability for future homeowners.
Of the 500 housing units, 200 will be offered through the NHA’s in-house financing program at P1.9 million per unit, while the remaining 300 units will be made available via Pag-IBIG mortgage takeout at P2.2 million per unit.
Each unit will be a two-storey duplex built on an 80-square-meter lot, with a total floor area of 60 square meters.
The houses are designed to balance durability and comfort, featuring tiled bathrooms, porcelain-finished ground floors, and painted wooden staircases.
The project also includes essential infrastructure such as concrete pavement roads, reinforced concrete drainage systems, a polyethylene pipe water distribution network, and three-phase residential electrical lines.
These utilities will eventually be turned over to appropriate service providers upon completion./CJ, WDJ
