Negros Occidental’s Moises Padilla town is preparing for a vibrant four-day celebration as it hosts the Magayon Hinuptanan Festival 2026 from March 21 to 24, highlighting local culture, talent and community spirit.

The festival will open on Saturday, March 21, with a thanksgiving mass, followed by a grand parade and official opening program.

A series of activities will mark the first day, including the Agro-Trade Fair, the 4th Marc & Michael Garcia Memorial Motocross, softball games, and a shootfest.

The Magayon Bazaar will also open, offering local products and goods, while the evening will feature the coronation of the Magayon Hinuptanan Festival Queen.

Events will continue on Sunday, March 22, with ongoing agro-trade and motocross activities, alongside traditional “Larong Pinoy” games and football matches.

The day will conclude with the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Day and Night Celebration, bringing together community members and youth leaders.

On March 23, the lineup includes horse racing events, the continuation of the bazaar, and CPSU Panaghawoy 2026, adding cultural and recreational highlights to the festivities.

The festival will culminate on March 24 with the Magayon Hinuptanan Street Dancing Competition, expected to draw large crowds and showcase the town’s rich heritage and creativity.

A street party will follow to officially close the celebration.

Local officials said the annual festival serves not only as a cultural showcase but also as a platform to boost tourism, support local enterprises, and foster unity among residents.

With a mix of cultural presentations, sports competitions, and community-driven events, the Magayon Hinuptanan Festival is anticipated to attract both locals and visitors for a colorful and meaningful celebration./CJ, WDJ
